A new Family Council is being re-established for Almonte Country Haven. If you are a family member or friend of a current or past resident of Country Haven, you’re invited to attend the initial meeting to learn more about the role of a Family Council and how you can get involved.
A Family Council provides support for families and friends of residents in a long-term care home and works collaboratively with the Home to improve the quality of care and life for residents. A Family Council had been in place for the home until 2017. It stopped operating due to various life changes for a majority of the council. Almonte Country Haven is very supportive of having a Family Council and has asked many times in the past for the Family Council to be re-established.
The initial meeting will be held virtually through Zoom. We will host two sessions in two different time slots to accommodate family members’ availability. The same content will be covered in each session.
