Pakenham Jr Girls Panthers win basketball gold

On April 3 the Pakenham Public School Panthers  Jr. Girls’ basketball team went to Glen Tay Public School in Perth for a tournament against four other schools.

The Panthers played against Glen Tay first and won 15-10. They then won against North Elmsley School 23-2, and against Maple Grove School 20-0.

Their last game was against Drummond School. Pakenham was down a few points and slowly got to within two points. Vanessa Perrault had two foul shots and got her first one. The schools were then tied and went into overtime.

In the end it was 12-10 for Pakenham. The girls went home in first place with gold medals and Drummond School took home the silver medals.

It was an amazing day for all the girls.
