The Lanark County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to remind residents that the Town of Mississippi Mills has a skateboarding/ rollerblading by-law in place. The by-law states,
“No person shall use, draw, haul or propel any skateboard, scooters, inline skates, or roller skates in areas outlined”.
The area where this activity is prohibited includes:
• Mill Street (from Bridge Street to Almonte Street),
• Little Bridge Street ( from Bridge Street to Mills Street)
• all municipal property at 14 Bridge Street (Old Town Hall),
• all municipal property at the Cenotaph (War Memorial) on Bridge Street and
• all municipal property at the Train Wreck Memorial (Mill Street and Bridge Street).
The OPP would like parents to share this information with their children and encourage them to use other recreational areas in Almonte for this type of activity.
