Though the weather has been unseasonably warm of late, a sure sign that autumn has indeed arrived is the annual decoration of Almonte’s downtown with decorative corn stalks by volunteers from the Beautification Committee.

The stalks were generously supplied by Craig Moodie, a dairy farmer from the famous old Moodie family in Richmond, who recently bought a farm in Mississippi Mills.
