In January we told you about a filmmaker with Almonte roots who was planning a spoof of the Hallmark-style Christmas movies so often filed here in Almonte.
The producers are now looking for volunteer extras for various scenes to be filmed during May. You can apply here.
The film is called ‘The Friendly Town’ and here’s the synopsis:
“Anton and Chloe come home for the holidays to find the town living through cliché Christmas storylines, and every few minutes, another gorgeous woman is dropped off in the middle of town. They realize that the Hallmark corporation has brainwashed everyone, and the two best friends need to escape before they become, against their will, the next happy Hallmark couple.
“It’s a tongue-in-cheek poke at Hallmark films, where Almonte actually gets to play itself. We’re looking for some good community support!”
