Stunt driver stopped

The Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continue their commitment to highway safety with a zero tolerance towards those driver’s who do NOT respect the posted speed limits.

 On Friday April 13th, a Lanark County O.P.P. officer was operating radar and monitoring traffic on Highway 15 in Beckwith Township near the village of Franktown. At approximately 2:30pm, the officer clocked a 2002 Audi travelling at 141km/hr in a 80km/hr zone.

A 55- year-old Ottawa man has been charged with Drive motor vehicle perform stunt – speeding by 50km or more/hr. Additionally, his driver’s licence was seized and suspended for 7days – his vehicle was seized and impounded for 7 days. He is scheduled to appear in Provincial Offences Court in Perth on May 22, 2012.
