The Almonte-based Vipers cheerleading team took first place in their division last Saturday at Canada’s Wonderland.
They were competing in the 33rd annual edition of Canada’s largest single-day outdoor cheerleading competition, in conjunction with the Ontario Cheerleading Federation. The team tells the Millstone:
Our competitive team features 17 girls from the Almonte/Carleton Place areas aged 10-14 years. They have been practicing since September as a team. We competed four times this season and finally won first place at Canada’s Wonderland against three other teams on Saturday May 28th.
It’s an amazing win for us considering this is only the second season we have been competing and most of the girls have only been in cheerleading for two seasons!
We are a small organization with a total of 50 athletes in varying programs but we’re specializing in competitive and pre-competitive cheerleading programs for children of all ages.
