Home Hospice North Lanark announces part-time new executive director

Home Hospice North Lanark (HHNL) pleased to announce the selection of Lisa Swant as our new part time Executive Director.    We conducted several interviews over the past couple of months and Lisa was chosen from the participants that we interviewed.   She started her position on January 2, 2025.

Lisa is a collaborative and inclusive leader and brings over 20 years of experience supporting seniors and individuals with disabilities who are living in the community. Throughout her career she has built and expanded programs that prioritize “voice and choice” for clients, ensuring individuals receive services that align with their unique needs and personal preferences.

Lisa’s leadership journey has given her a variety of experiences which have inspired her. She founded and grew a successful seniors’ services organization which provided multiple supports to vulnerable clients for over a decade. She also served as the Program Manager for East Region at March of Dimes Canada, overseeing attendant care services for individuals with disabilities in Pembroke, Ottawa, Brockville and Oshawa/Whitby.

Her most recent leadership position was with The Good Companions Seniors’ Centre, where she spearheaded the successful expansion of Seniors’ Centres Without Walls phone-based programming across Ontario and Atlantic Canada. Thousands of isolated seniors became able to access free, phone-based opportunities to socialize, learn new skills, and stay connected from the comfort of their homes.

Although she’s experienced at managing large teams and multi-million-dollar budgets, Lisa feels most fulfilled when leading small, passionate, and client-centred teams, working together to reach their full potential for community impact.

And when she’s away from work, Lisa loves to dance. Whether it’s line dancing, swing, ballroom, or square dancing, she embraces every opportunity to move, connect, and have fun!

Lisa is thrilled to bring her expertise, passion, and innovative vision to the Home Hospice North Lanark team to strengthen and expand palliative and hospice care services across the region.

“We are thrilled to have Lisa join our HHNL team and we look forward to working with her to further expand our services and supports to folks in our communities and in continuing to making a difference in the lives of those we support”  said Jan Watson, Chair of the Board of HHNL.
