Mississippi Mills Community Fund exceeds fundraising goal

Early believers help launch Mississippi Mills Community Fund, exceeding fundraising goal

Mississippi Mills, ON, January 26, 2026 — The Mississippi Mills Community Fund (MMCF) is celebrating its Founding Circle campaign, which raised $67,546, surpassing its original goal of $50,000. This marks a significant milestone in establishing a permanent, community-led fund for Mississippi Mills.

Held under the theme of Give Local, Grow Local, the campaign brought together a group of supporters known as the Founding Circle. By stepping forward at a pivotal moment, these individuals, families and organizations helped launch a new funding source designed to respond to local priorities and support people and organizations across Mississippi Mills, now and into the future.

“From the very beginning, MMCF has been about local people supporting local priorities,” said Paddy Vargas, on behalf of the MMCF volunteer committee. “Those who stepped forward early helped turn an idea into a real, lasting funding source for our community. Their generosity gave us momentum and confidence, and this campaign marks the start of a new way to support local needs in Mississippi Mills.”

MMCF was created to support local projects, programs, and initiatives that address needs identified by the community itself. By building an endowed fund, MMCF aims to provide sustainable support that will continue to grow and give back year after year.

Looking ahead, MMCF will soon launch applications for its first round of community giving, with an initial focus on Mental Health. The inaugural granting cycle will support local charitable organizations and initiatives projects working to improve mental health and well-being across Mississippi Mills. This marks the first step putting the Fund’s community-led mission into action.
