Centre Vie’s long-term work emphasizes perseverance, community development, and sustainability, with initiatives in healthcare, education, women’s empowerment, and skills training. Mississippi Mills residents have generously supported previous appeals for assistance
Centre Vie’s efforts have led to the creation of schools from kindergarten to grade 13, with alumni now serving as educators and administrators. Healthcare services expanded from basic posts to a fully operational health center with laboratory, obstetrics, and preventive care. Women’s businesses thrive, with most loans repaid despite socio-political challenges, contributing to family stability and community improvement.
Current Needs: An urgent appeal is made for funds to replace the orphanage roof, which has deteriorated after 28 years of service. Due to severe wind and rain damage and after several repair attempts, the roof needs to be replaced. We are making an appeal for help in replacing the orphanage roof before the incoming rainy season. Thank-you for any assistance you might be able to provide.
Your donations can be made by E-transfer, or mail, to the Community Presbyterian Church, Almonte / Centre Vie Orphanage.
