To the owner(s) of a pair of cats that have recently been observed wandering around in the back parking lot of Keepsakes/Alliance Coin/Couples Corner, on Mill Street:

This evening I experienced the horror of seeing the younger of the two – a small black cat – being knocked over by the undercarriage of a quickly-moving vehicle on Bridge Street.

Miraculously, he/she emerged and quickly ran behind Keepsakes.

FOR GOODNESS SAKE, cats do not belong out loose anywhere near a downtown core. I implore the owner of these cats – assuming they are not wild – to either act responsibly in keeping them inside, or alternatively find them a new home.

I myself am a cat-lover, and contrary to folklore, they rarely do get to enjoy nine lives.
