Good Morning!
Today I am going to share photos that I have taken in Lanark County during these last weeks.
My husband and I went “fishing” on Victoria Day weekend, on Mississippi Lake and I was able to spend a lot of time photographing a couple of different Blue Herons, Loons and a pair of Osprey, and a pair of female Common Mergansers. I was able to capture many shots of the Blue Heron as he was hunting. At one point he caught a big Pike. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, he didn’t keep it.
My good hiking buddy & I went to the Mill of Kintail mid-May, and were treated to a variety of Warblers and a sighting of a pair of Scarlet Tanagers! It was my first time actually catching a photo of the Scarlet Tanagers. You have to know, the warbler photos are mostly taken from far away. They are very fast moving little birds and don’t sit very well for a photo session! I managed to capture a Northern Parula, Female Common Redstart, and a Chestnut-sided Warbler (lifer).
You’ll also see a couple of photographs of a Bobolink. I have never captured one in a photograph before. I was in my house and heard a very pretty song, one I didn’t recognize. So I grabbed my camera and was able to catch a couple of photos of him at a distance at the back of my property.
Thank you for stopping by!
Until next time,
~Cheryl
