Humour me, click the Facebook ‘like’ button

For several years, one reliable way of knowing how many people enjoyed a given Millstone story was how often they clicked the Facebook ‘like’ button at the bottom of the page on the website, as highlighted in yellow here:

The nice thing about the like button was that it didn’t instantly appear on your Facebook feed, advising all your friends you liked the story in question. It was simply a way to say ‘I like this’, without telling the entire known universe.

Some months back Facebook made changes to the button which broke it on the Millstone and many other sites. So I removed it. I recently spent time trying to get it working again and I think I have.

So web readers: can you try clicking the button again if you like an article?

If that does cause items to appear on your Facebook page I apologize in advance — I’m semi-sure it won’t though.

Thanks.
