Almonte Tennis Club 2016 season

TennisOn March 5, 2016 members of the Almonte Tennis Club (ATC) executive met to review the 2015, and plan for the 2016, tennis season.   This past summer, ATC had 187 memberships.

One of the key successes that ATC was able to accomplish in 2015 was to receive a Trillium Ontario Grant, through the Town of Mississippi Mills.  .  The project is expected to cost up to $70k, of which $35k is coming from the Trillium Foundation, to repair the drainage issue on the northeast corner of the courts.  In 2015, the Town paid $10K towards planning and drawings for the project.  In 2016, the Town will contribute $30k towards the repair project and ATC will contribute $6k from the Club’s reserve funds.  Thank you to Chris Barlow for his hard work on getting the Trillium grant!

The repairs to the courts are expected to start on April 18 and go until May 30, 2016.  ATC is optimistic that we will be able to work around those dates, with minimal disruption to the tennis season.

ATC has two vacancies on the executive; property &  maintenance and social convenor.  If any of those positions interest you, please contact Doug Younger-Lewis , ATC President at 613-256-2738 or by email to info@almontetennisclub.ca .

The ATC Annual General Meeting is scheduled for Thursday, April 27, 2016 7-9 pm, at the Almonte Public Library.  ATC wants members to know what is being planned for the upcoming season, please join us to provide your input and have your say in tennis in Almonte!  As an added incentive, and to ensure we have a quorum, members names who come out to the AGM will be put into a draw for a free membership.

Watch for tennis announcements on the ATC website http://www.almontetennisclub.ca/.
