Town Council passed a motion to have the Almonte Jr Sharpshooters play out of the Almonte District & Community Center for the upcoming 2016-2017 season. The Amonte Jr Sharpshooters will be playing in the new CPJHL League, consisting of 12 teams:
East Division:
Almonte Jr Sharpshooters
Glengarry Highlanders
Akwesasne Chiefs
O-Town Rebels
Other two divisions:
Norwood Nemesis
Seaforth Generals
Muskoka Wild
Essa Stallions
Coldwater Falcons
Burks Falls Bruins
Grey Highlands Hawks
The Almonte Jr. Sharpshooters will also be participating in showcases involving American teams.
Our program’s main focus is to develop players on and off the ice, in order to help each player achieve his/her goals. The Sharpshooter’s organization believes in promoting local players, thus rostering as many local players as possible. In fact the team’s captain is Nathan Hans, a resident of Almonte.
Nathan has played his last two seasons in the NOJHL. Zachary Mills, the Almonte JR. Sharpshooter’s goaltender, is a resident of Carleton Place. Zachary has also played Junior A his last two seasons in the NOJHL.
The Sharpshooters organization is looking forward to becoming an integral part of the community and earning its support. We plan to participate in outreach programs throughout the year. The team and its members hopes you support them by coming to cheer them on at their games.
