Our world has lost a gentle hero.
On October 16th, Ernst (Ernie) Neuheimer passed away after a long struggle with lung disease. According to his wishes, he died peacefully at home with family by his side.
Ernie was the beloved husband of 45 years to Judith (Judy) Neuheimer, the cherished father of Matthew Neuheimer and Anna Neuheimer (Jesper Steffens Pedersen), loving guardian to Kim O’Leary, and the adoring Opa to Nolan and Jonah.
Ernie leaves behind his loving extended family of sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends. Ernie was predeceased by his mother (Matilde Wolf), father (Felix Neuheimer), and younger brother (Willie Neuheimer).
For many years Ernie was a friend of Bill W., and an active and respected member of several communities including Waupoos and Cursillo.
We are deeply grateful to Dawna Miriguay, family and friends, as well as personal support workers, nurses and doctors who made it possible for Ernie to stay at home.
A celebration of life is being planned for Summer 2022.
