Good Holiday Monday to you!
I am a still on a bit of a high from my experience yesterday. I was asked by Ria & Paul Ralph (Cedar Hill Christmas Tree Farm) to take photographs of their farm. This was a unique request as I would be snapping aerial photographs from a Float Plane! I was so excited to do this, and a teensy bit apprehensive as I have never been on a plane that small before and certainly have never done photography from the sky either!
Yesterday we drove to Clayton Lake to Chris Dunham’s place where he took us up in his float plane. Before going, I researched a little about aerial photography and discovered that taking photos through a window, no matter how clean that window is, is futile. The photos will not be as clear as you would like them to be. So we expressed our concerns to Chris and he removed the door. Haha! You can imagine perhaps my concerns! All said and done, it was the most amazing experience and I would do it again I a heartbeat! I know now, what a bird might see when flying overhead. What a freeing experience! Please see some of the photos of our time in the sky below.
Another highlight from this week was the appearance of Sandhill Cranes and their offspring. I have been driving around my ‘neigbourhood’ a lot in the last few days trying to capture some photographs of these beautiful birds. Yesterday after my fun in the sky, I finally found them on a neighbours property, and with their permission I snapped some photos of them.
Thank you for taking time to view my photographs from this past week.

Have a great week of feathers, wings and beaks….. (& propellers?)
