The Ottawa Citizen in its July 25 edition, published a full page article on the work of Almonte resident Fran Bryerton with the Soi Dog Foundation . The Millstone spoke to Ms Bryerton this morning and was told of the extreme cruelty with which dogs are killed for meat in parts of Asia. Puppies are burned alive, anlimals are burned to death with torches.

Ms. Bryerton told the Millstone that the need to help all dogs and cats rescued by Soi Dog Foundation is never ending. She is an ongoing fund raiser who supports this foundation. Currently it is are established in U.S., U.K., Australia, France, Netherlands, Canada and its main home base is Thailand. Ms. Bryerton is always in need of donations of items such as jewellery and quality items for her yard sale which raises funds for Soi Dog.
She also mentioned other ways to help: make a cash donation in the huge donation jar which will be on the table at the Soi Dog booth at Carleton Place Street Bazaar this Saturday. July 30th. Bring the children to get their faces painted.
Indirectly you may contact Candace Cornock 250-733-0832 or visit Soi Dog Canada. Candace is the Canadian Rep and may be contacted to find out how to adopt, foster, sponsor, become a flight attendant and learn of so many simple other ways to help. Ms. Bryerton suggests that you ask friends to donate to Soi Dog instead of getting a birthday, anniversary or wedding gift.
Ms. Bryerton invites you to call her: Fran 613-256-3726 or email fluffyb@xplornet.com She would appreciate your gathering a few friends to call and come and view the selection of jewellery, t-shirts, cat toys she has ongoing for sale at her home. Either donating jewellery or buying is helping both ways.
