McNeeley-Thompson lawn bowling tournament

Finally, a lawn bowling tournament with sunshine. The Almonte Lawn Bowling Club officially finished its season on Saturday, 16 September with the In-House McNeeley-Thompson tournament, sans weather delays. The tournament was an Open Pairs competition and 14 teams signed up to participate.

Under beautiful blue skies and with the temperature in the high twenties the first 10 end game began at 10:00 AM and finished at 11:30 AM. After a 45-minute brown bag lunch break the second 10 end game began with the first game high winner playing the second-high winner and so forth until all teams had been paired with their appropriate opposing team.  At 2:30 PM the last rink finished their 10 ends and the score cards were given to the Draw Master, Bob Thomson, and he began to calculate the winners based on, the lowest score differential together with the highest number of points. When all the calculations were finished the Two Game winner was the team of Nick Odynski and Helen Howe while second place two game winner went to Allan McNeeley and first year bowler, Mike McIndoo. The top one game winner was awarded to Richard Needham and again, first year bowler Kevin Trudeau.
