At this beautiful time of the year we enjoy the glorious autumn colours during the day and in the warm evenings we hear the honking of the geese gathering together on the ponds for the night. Almost muffled by the sound of crickets we hear the distant hooting of an owl hunting for mice. We think about how lucky we are to live in this area so close to nature and we are thankful that our Natural Heritage will be preserved for the long term. On September 16, 2014 our Mississippi Mills Council voted unanimously to include a Natural Heritage System in the Community Official Plan, currently under review. On behalf of our children and grandchildren and their descendants, we thank you for your foresight Council.
