It is a curious fact that Mississippi Mills has no place for visitors to sleep.
There are a handful of B and Bs, some of them—like Old Burnside – quite lovely but no motels, inns or hotels. Mississippi Mills bustles nearly all year with festivals and events from Puppets Up to to music performances but folks and families have to return home afterwards and that can be a tiresome nuisance.
And there are Mississippi Mills' relatives who would rather have Granny or sister and the kids sleep away instead of crowding into the house.
Our town is growing by leaps and bounds and surely there is profit to be made with a clean and comfortable motel or two on the outskirts with a restaurant attached.
So step up some of you rich guys, find a suitable spot and get shovels in the ground. The snores you hear will be mighty welcome.
