Police asking for assistance in investigation of damage to Beckwith Arena

On April 20, 2013 at approximately 8:00 am the Lanark County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to the Beckwith Arena on the 9th Line of Beckwith due to damage done to the exterior of the building overnight.

A vehicle believed to be a pick-up truck or possibly a cargo van crashed into the west side of the building causing significant damage. The estimated damage is unknown at this time.  It is apparent that the vehicle was spinning its tires in the area prior to hitting the side of the building.  The vehicle also left deep grooves in the gravel upon its departure.  The OPP Forensic Identification Unit (FISU) attended and collected evidence at the scene.

The OPP is asking the public’s assistance in this investigation.  If anyone has any information they are asked to contact the OPP at 1-800-310-1122 or call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
