If you have opened your latest tax bill, you will notice an item under the Municipal Levies column for policing. This is not a new tax. Council decided to “unhide” the policing portion of your tax bill for better transparency. The Town has no control over policing costs and expected increases.
The main residential levy this year decreased by an amount equal to the police levy.
