Today’s Ottawa Citizen came out with an editorial endorsement of a political party (in this case Harper’s Conservatives). I have protested this meddling in the federal election by permanently cancelling my subscription of 35 years.
I am told that there is a tradition in Canada of this type of political interference by the print media. This really only has a place in a banana republic type of pseudo democracy. I think that this is another tradition that needs to be dropped!
