Several hundred people assembled under grey skies today at the Almonte Cenotaph to commemorate sacrifices made in past wars.
It was, as always, a moving and solemn event, especially the reading of the long list of names of those from town who lost their lives in the wars.
As they do each year, the members of the Almonte Legion invited everyone attending to join them for fellowship afterwards.
