Report on Lawn Bowling open house

Almonte Lawn Bowling Club – Open House

While it was a sunny but cool Saturday this past week for the Almonte Lawn Bowling Club’s Open House approximately a dozen potentially new members came to give the sport a try. The Club unfortunately is one of Almonte’s better hidden gems. Founded in 1911 it is fully open for the season and members are once again s enjoying the gentle exercise it provides together with the fresh air and opportunity to renew friendship with past members. From last year to now the Club underwent a tremendous transition with the bowling Green and grounds being upgraded, a Club House kitchen renovation and overall painting of the Club lounge.

Lawn Bowling is an inexpensive sport that provides gentle exercise, relaxing fun and the opportunity to meet new friends with the same interest in the sport. Undoubtedly one of the least expensive sports available, the annual total cost for new members is just $60.00 for a season from May until September – all equipment is provided except your shoes.. Members bowl Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 7:00 PM and form teams from those in attendance. There are no fixed teams so members enjoy the flexibility of not having to attend on a set schedule.

If interested in having fun, meeting new people and enjoying the fresh air, you may contact:
