The Almonte 2014 Terry Fox Run went off without a hitch. The weather gods smiled as the weekend showers from the previous day cleared away
and even provided a little sunshine to dry up the puddles. About 85 participants and volunteers came out to run, cycle and walk either of the five or ten kilometre routes marked out by the organizers. The local run raised just over $2,000 for cancer research in this the 32nd year of the event here in Almonte.
Organizers would like to acknowledge the support of the run volunteers, the Mississippi Mills Parks and Recreation staff who assisted in the coordination and setup of tables and tents, as well as a big thanks to Baker Bob for his donation of a box of his fresh and tasty chocolate chip cookies.
Next year’s run date is already set for Sunday, September 20th. See you there!
