I recently had friends come and have lunch with me at the Barley Mow. They had seen the signs for “Save Our River” and asked about what was happening. When I tried to explain what was happening, they were incredulous as to why the various environmental committees were allowing this to happen.

Subject: Ghost Falls of Almonte
I was in Almonte this week and heard of plans to generate more electricity at the expense of the scenic beauty of the falls. Niagara successfully balances hydro generation and Kodak moments, why not Almonte? Has Almonte jumped the shark?
If you wish to see the falls in all their magnificence, move a trip to Almonte to priority staus on your bucket list, before they disappear, or become a mere ghost of their former glory.Mike Woodley
