The building is a local landmark with beautiful heritage masonry. Mr. Loosemore was hit with a court ordered bill for over $30,000 after the town declared the site hazardous after a complaint of a fallen brick and fenced it off.  Mr. Loosemore says there never was a hazard and that the recent 5.1 earthquake centred in Shawville did not move a single stone in the tower.
