Almonte Soccer Club prepares for coming season

Another year of Almonte soccer is nearly here.  We have an exciting year planned for the Almonte Soccer Club (ASC).  With the addition of many new board members and the return of vital experienced leadership we have begun the preparations for the upcoming year.

And the board is already looking ahead to our 50th anniversary season (and Canada’s sesquicentennial) in 2017.  We wish to create a committee to oversee the planning so please contact us if you are interested in assisting us in preparation for this historic year.

For any information you might need regarding the Almonte Soccer Club, please visit our website at

Some highlights from the website and information about upcoming events include:

Almonte Soccer Club will be using a new, user-friendly registration system starting this season.  An instructional document has been included to help new users to the site, please read it before attempting to register.  The link to the registration site is available directly through the ASC web site.

For those children interested in representing Almonte in competitive play, registration for competitive try-outs has already begun while the try-outs begin February 27.  Almonte fields competitive teams from Under 9 to Under 18 year old boys and girls (U9-U18).  We look forward to even more competitive soccer teams emerging from Almonte so please considering registering your child.

Registration for competitive players, who have been selected through the try-out process, and recreational players begins in early February.   In addition to competitive teams, the Almonte Soccer Club offers youth programs in Soccer School, for children U4-U6, and Recreational Soccer (U7-U18).  Adult soccer teams are also an integral part of the Almonte Soccer Club including Open, Old Timers and Masters level teams.

As always, we are looking for volunteer coaches so please consider volunteering when you register your children.  And if you are interested in board involvement, please contact us.  Volunteers are the foundation for our grassroots soccer club.

We intend to run coaches’ clinics in preparation for the season.  These will be in addition to the annual pre-season meeting May 7, 2016 at the Almonte Civitan Hall from 9am – 11am held for Soccer School and Recreational Soccer volunteer coaches.  Please check the site as the season approaches if you are interested in attending a coach’s clinic for more information.

Please visit the website for more information about Almonte Soccer Club.  We are excited for the promise of another season of Almonte Soccer.

Yours in soccer,
Almonte Soccer Club Board
