At the beginning of the hockey season the Almonte Pakenham Bantam B1 Thunder team was given the honor of having the former Almonte Junior Thunder “Pink at the Rink” jerseys to use as practice jerseys.
The boys on the team wanted to continue the tradition of these jerseys raising funds for cancer research and came up with the idea of playing their home games as their own “Pink at the Rink” fundraisers.

They played each home game in the jerseys and volunteer parents ran 50/50 draws to raise funds during the games. Home fans and the opposing teams were incredibly supportive with winners often donating some or all of their winnings. The team decided to match any funds raised.
A cheque for $600.00 was presented to Greg Hotte of the Canadian Cancer Society on Sunday, February 28, 2016 at the Pakenham arena.
