Councillor Duncan Abbott responds to Brent Eades’ article on Enerdu

Dear Editor:

My thanks to Brent Eades for his careful presentation of the Enerdu Project.  It falls between the “worst disaster that ever befell Almonte” and “the best thing since sliced bread ” which are the two prevailing views of the project that keep arising.

As a member of both the Town Council and the Board of the Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority I have been bombarded by both sides with reports, counter reports, personal attacks (on both sides), and sometimes silly predictions.  A decision will be made in the next few weeks or months likely at the provincial level and it will then be up to all of us to make the best of it and maintain our reputation as “The Friendly Town” no matter who prevails.

Thank you Brent.

Duncan Abbott
