Ian Keith (Ike) Taylor passed away on November 22, 2009, but his legacy has continued to live on at the Almonte General Hospital/Fairview Manor for many years thanks to a trust he established prior to his death.

This year, the Trustees of Mr. Taylor’s General Trust are offering to match all donations made to the AGH-FVM Foundation up to a total of $10,000.

“Mr. Taylor thought very highly of the Hospital and Manor,” said Mr. Lewis McCowell, Partner with Gibsons LLP and one of the fund’s trustees. “Ike really appreciated the care he received from doctors, nurses, caregivers and staff at the Manor.”

After retiring, Mr. Taylor built a home in Ramsay Township for himself and his dog Sam. Having lived in the community for many years, he appreciated how wonderful it was to have safe, high- quality health care close to home.

“We are so thankful to the Trustees of Mr. Taylor’s Trust for the generous offer to match donations,” said Art Solomonian, Board Chair, AGH-FVM Foundation. “Their philanthropic leadership will really make a difference to the care provided at both the Hospital and Manor.”

Any donation received at the Foundation on or before Tuesday, Dec. 15 will be matched by the Ian Keith Taylor General Trust, up to a total contribution of $10,000.

Donations can be made online at: www.almontehospitalfoundation.com, phoned in at 613-256-2500 ext. 2296 or mailed to AGH-FVM Foundation, 75 Spring St., Almonte, ON K0A 1A0.

Funds raised will help fund the purchase of new equipment like a digital x-ray machine or provide staff training in areas such as caring for patients and residents with dementia.
