Happy Saturday! Once again I am logging in to post after a long absence. I do have good reasons I guess, but I also apologize. I really expected to be doing this sooner!
We recently moved into Almonte (just on the outskirts) and I have to say, I LOVE it here! I loved my other house near Pakenham for the last 16 years but have been so happy with the change, I surprised myself!
It’s been difficult in the ‘birding’ department, firstly, to establish some good bird traffic here with feeder hung around the new yard. But also with the busy-ness of moving and settling into a new place! We had to downsize in a MAJOR way!
On a more personal note, my mother in law suffered a brain aneurysm on Mother’s Day and after a successful surgery, suffered a stroke and endured numerous seizures. She is currently in the ICU in Ottawa. We are trusting and praying for her recovery.
About the birds: Right after we moved in, I discovered the field behind our house is the habitat for the Eastern Meadowlark. My bird feeders have been visited by numerous Pine Siskins, and American Goldfinches.
Last week-end my husband took me for a boat ride on Mississippi Lake and I was thrilled to capture a couple of Loon photographs!
Oh and I can’t forget the thrill I had BEFORE we moved to capture the Eastern Bluebird behind our barn. It was as if they were saying goodbye. It was a bittersweet time. I loved all the bird activity at the other place. I also captured a brief visit of Sandhill Cranes in April.
Please enjoy my offerings from the last couple of months.
