Games

Spring is almost here and already it’s time to prepare for the Summer Senior Games in District 7A, also known as Lanark North. This is an important year since this is the year the Ontario +55 Games will be held on August 9-11 in the Midland area.

Locally 15 different events will be held and the medal winners are eligible to compete in the Ontario Games. The local group sends a bus and subsidizes the members transportation.

In the interest of getting the registrations out earlier than usual, this year a 2 page info packet replaces the former booklet. These can now be picked up at the Almonte and Carleton Place Legions and the Almonte Old Town Hall. These venues will accept the completed registration with the $17 cheque made out to District7A OSGA. Art Levi is our registrar. If you have questions, call the convener listed on the schedule for the events you are interested in.

The first event is Bid Euchre on April 29 at the Almonte Curling Club and the final one is Horseshoes at the Carleton Place Legion on June 16 so May and June will be busy for local seniors. The single registration fee allows play in all events. A few like golf may have an additional fee to cover the extra cost at the golf club.

All information is online at the Ontario Senior Games Association website-http//:ontarioseniorgames.ca ,then go to District 7 A where you
