Theft of farm gates

The Lanark County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating three separate incidents where gates were stolen in the 9th Line and Cemetery Side Road area over the past couple of weeks.

On August 31, 2012 at 10:20 am police received a report of gates being taken overnight from the township property leading to the Cemetery trail system. The gates are used to block motor vehicle access to the trail. The value of the gates is approximately $780.00.

On September 4, 2012 at 12:10 pm police received a report of farm gates being taken from the rear of a property located on the 9th Line. The suspects removed the posts supporting the gates with an apparent vehicle. The value of the gates was not provided.

On September 19, 2012 at 1:35 pm police received a report of gates being taken from Beckwith Park on the 9th Line. 8 gates were reported stolen as well as a farm wagon that was stored on the property. The total value is over $5000.
