This is to advise that the federal government has launched a website (https://www.mydemocracy.ca/) meant to gather input from all Canadians on what they want see in any reformed electoral (voting) system.
During the hearings by the Special Committee on Electoral Reform, members heard that a minority (3%) of the population was actively engaged in the subject of electoral reform, while a further 19% were somewhat engaged. This survey is a way for the government to hear from more Canadians.
At the end of the survey is an interesting summary of your input and how it relates to others who have completed the survey. You can have those results emailed to you.
Notices of the national survey are being mailed to all households in Canada. Here’s hoping that Mississippi Mills shows the rest of the country what full participation is all about. Please fill out this National Electoral Reform Survey. Thanks.
