Some concern has been raised that the beloved Almonte General hospital would suffer under the new "patient based" funding model announced by the Ontario government. Almonte hospital CEO Mary Wilson-Trider has assured the Millstone that the Ministry's patient-based funding model is not being applied to small hospitals at this time. Almonte General Hospital is a small hospital. The Carleton Place and Arnprior hospitals are also small hospitals. AGH has not been advised of its' funding allocation for 2012/13 but the hospital does not expect it to be lower than the 2011/12 amount.
