Home Hospice North Lanark offers practical caregiver training

Are you a non-paid caregiver taking care of someone with a life-limiting illness?

Home Hospice North Lanark is partnering with Champlain Hospice Palliative Care Program to present Practical Caregiver training. The training will take place over the course of five Friday mornings at the Civitan Hall (small hall) at 500 Ottawa Street, Almonte.

Topics covered are:

October 15:       Your role as a caregiver (Navigation, Advance Care Planning)

October 22:       Lifts and Transfers (Body mechanics, lifting techniques)

October 29:       Providing Personal Care (All things hygiene, grief, dignity)

November 5:     End of Life Care (What to expect at the end of life)

November 12: Communication and Self Care

Registration is at 9:30, training starts at 10 a.m.

This program is FREE, but participation limited to 15.

Please bring your own mask and drinks.
